NLT Technologies (Kawasaki, Japan) was formerly know as NEC LCD Japan. The renamed comapny developed a new glasses-free 3D LCD display that uses their new HxDP (Horizontal x times-Density Pixels, an enhancement to existing HDDP, or Horizontal Double-Density Pixels technology) – to create mutiple viewpoints and allow 2D and 3D images on the same screen at the same time.

The company produced a prototype 3.1″ panel with 427×240 pixels.

3D pictures taken in either multi-angle sweep or 3D sweep panorama mode. Only one shot here (marked) was taken with the single 3D picture mode, but it does not seem to have any 3D, at least when I view it on my computer. Long considered the ugly duckling of the consumer lenticular cameras, the 4-lenses / 4-views 3D stereoscopic Nishika 8000 is now in high regard as the most versatile of the breed, because the camera features three aperature settings, unlike other lenticular cameras, which are only point and shoot cameras.

This camera has four 30mm lenses which are used to create a multi-view 3D picture. It has a shutter speed of 1/60th of a second, and three possible aperture values of “Sunny”, “Partially Cloudy”, and “Indoors Cloudy”. This camera was made in the late 80′s by Nishika Optical Systems, and takes standard 35mm film.
